The Working Principle of Auto Oil Filter

1. The working principle of auto oil filter

Now the car has become a part of our work and life. But there are many car owners who do not maintain their cars, especially in the area of car oil filters. The working principle of automobile oil filter is generally divided into three types according to the impurity filtering method: mechanical separation, centrifugal separation and magnetic adsorption.

2. Introduction to the working principle of auto oil filter

The mechanical separation of auto oil filter can be divided into pure mechanical separation, overhead separation and adsorption separation according to its action form. In pure mechanical separation, filter screen filtration is common, that is, mechanical impurities and sludge are filtered with a filter material of a certain pore size, and impurities with a particle size larger than the filter hole are blocked by the filter material and filtered out. Overhead separation means that there are countless small particles attached to the inner wall of the filter hole, and the particles gradually increase, making the filter hole gradually smaller, forming an overhead phenomenon, making the size of the filtered particles smaller than the size of the filter hole. Because the particle shape in engine oil is mostly irregular, the overhead phenomenon is easy to form. In addition, the colloidal substances in the oil often adhere to the surface of the filter material or the inner wall of the filter hole to form adsorption.

However, the filtering conditions of real automobile oil filters are generally not the function of a single principle, but may be a combination of the above.

The centrifugal separation of the automobile oil filter means that the oil passes through a high-speed rotating rotor, so that the impurities in the oil are thrown to the inner wall of the rotor by the centrifugal force, so as to be separated from the oil.

The magnetic adsorption of automobile oil filters uses the magnetic force of permanent magnets to adsorb the iron particles in the oil, preventing them from circulating in the oil lubrication system and harming engine parts.
