Renewed and Upgraded FILTON Air Conditioner Filter

Air conditioner filters are products related to the health of drivers and passengers. We breathe the air filtered by the air conditioner filters in a small enclosed car space. So we always hope that it can filter 100%, but not become an airtight wall.


This is like Mundell's Triangle Law of Impossibility. The performance of the air conditioner filter also has its own Triangle Law. We can't achieve the ultimate in all three aspects, we must have a trade-off, but with the improvement of equipment and process updates, we will continue to break through these inherent boundaries.


The performance of the particulate air conditioner filter is generally developed from three aspects


(1) Wind resistance: the resistance encountered by products of specific sizes with different air volumes. Generally, 4 different air volume values are set, corresponding to the air volume of the four gears of the car air conditioner.


(2) Efficiency: filtration efficiency of different micron particle size (0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0, 10) after different aerosols (A2 ash, sodium chloride/potassium chloride) pass through specific size products, which determines the ability of the air conditioner filter to filter various particles in the air.


(3) Dust holding capacity: the quality of dust that a specific aerosol can hold within the required standards, which determines the service life of the air conditioner filter.


Some other characteristics include flammability, stability, odor and other requirements.


After we have tested the materials of different structures, the products of the air conditioner filter series have ushered in a major upgrade.


3mm soft flange replaces 1.5mm hard flange

Flanges of traditional air conditioner filter are relatively hard ones. When it is installed in the air conditioner filter assembly, the sealing may not be very tight. There is an allowance between the air conditioner filter and the assembly. When the air conditioner filter adopts the least allowance and assembly adopts the biggest allowance, the sealing performance will be greatly reduced. 3mm soft flanges have better flexibility and elasticity, higher installation fault tolerance, and better sealing than hard ones.

Improve the skeleton craft and change the air inlet surface

FILTON particulate air conditioner filter now uses the smp structure, featuring protection + melt blown + skeleton, and makes improvement in terms of the skeleton structure. With the glue-free craft, the raw material slices have better uniformity, higher stiffness, and ensure the folded material is not easy to deform under high air volume.

This test bench is designed and developed according to ISO11155-1, which can test:

1. The relationship curve between the initial resistance of filter and the air volume

2. The filter classification efficiency of the filter under the rated air volume

3. The initial resistance of the filter

4. The dust holding capacity of the filter

From the test curve in the figure above, the orange one is the air intake of the skeleton surface, and the blue one is the air intake of the protective surface. According to the ISO11155-1 standard, we tested the air volume in four stages of 150, 300, 450, 600, and finally tested the situation of production deformation under the maximum air volume in the test bench (850m³/h). Under the air volume of 150 and 300, the initial pressure drop is basically the same. As the air volume increases, the advantages of the skeleton surface are reflected, the initial pressure drop becomes smaller, and the ability to resist deformation is strong.

Basically, there is no visible change in the deformation of the air intake cloth fold of the skeleton surface, and for the air intake of the protective surface, the middle cloth fold and the cloth folds on both sides have the condition of deformation.


If the resistance is small, the air intake will increase, and the we can enjoy high air flow without turning on the high gear of air conditioner, and the load on the car will also be reduced. With strong anti-deformation ability and high dust holding capacity, our product boasts the feature that resistance will not increase due to the folding.
